Accommodation provided meets all of the minimum standards required by the Care Standards Act 2000. Residents’ rooms vary in size, but are all more than 12 square metres, with most having en-suite facilities. All rooms are decorated to a high standard with carpet and curtains provided, a call system and central heating, TV and telephone points. Double rooms are available for married couples or persons related wishing to share.Insofar as space permits, residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture and personal belongings. Furniture can be provided if a resident does not wish to provide their own.
Electrical fans, portable heaters, kettles, refrigerators and hot water bottles are not permitted for use in a resident’s room for reasons of safety.
Insurance is provided which covers up to £1000 worth of personal possessions. The home has a safe where valuables and cash may be deposited and each room has a lockable cabinet in which to store medication.
Residents can choose to meet with others in the lounge, quiet places in the home or enjoy the privacy of their own room.
The communal areas are spacious and comfortable, with a main lounge and dining room and bathrooms and toilets are located on each floor. Assisted bathing and shower facilities are provided.
For those who enjoy fresh air there are pleasant and spacious grounds/garden areas with easy access and seating.
